Sharing Our Stories

The Family Connection Center (FCC) works to help engage parents in their children’s education by helping them break down barriers and addressing instability that is impeding a student’s ability to learn. At the FCC, we take note of common obstacles to the academic success of families and help advocate for them in uncertain or challenging circumstances as well as help equip families with the tools they need to achieve stability and independence going forward. We also help obtain and distribute resources we see a need for in our community, be it jackets, shoes, food, or gifts for the holidays. We also help families access extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities for students that offer new and horizon-broadening experiences.
The Wrap-Around Services Program is an innovative partnership between the City of Bellevue and the Bellevue School District. The Wrap-Around Services Program Coordinator is employed by the City of Bellevue, Parks and Community Services Department, and is based at Stevenson and Lake Hills schools. Working collaboratively, we aim to provide services that affectively meet the growing, diverse, and holistic needs of children, youth and families that are served by involving them in the life of the school through volunteer activities, and lifelong learning.
I’ve seen the direct impact that the Bellevue Schools Foundation has on our students. As a parent, I’m an advocate for the Foundation because I know it helps not only my kids but those across the entire district!

The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a network of families, students, teachers, administrators, and business and community leaders dedicated to the educational success of children and promoting family involvement in schools.
We as parents of the Stevenson Elementary PTA want all parents of all cultures to be represented in the PTA so that the PTA represents the beautiful diversity that exists at Stevenson, our school!
Teaching in the Stevenson preschool program has been and continues to be an incredible rewarding experience for me. Witnessing the curiosity and enthusiasm of young minds is both heartwarming and inspiring. One of the joys of preschool teaching is witnessing the joy and pride in children’s eyes when they achieve something for their first time, writing their name, making new friends, or tying their shoes. It’s a reminder of the significant impact educators can have on shaping a child’s early years. At the same time, collaborating with families and the community here at Stevenson plays a vital role. Establishing open communication has helped create a cohesive support system for student’s overall well-being. The energy, laughter and genuine curiosity of preschoolers make each day uniquely fulfilling. It’s a privilege for me to be part of the early educational journey at Stevenson and contribute to laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning.
